Birth Doula Support in Omaha & Surrounding Areas
The doula on your birth team should be someone that you truly trust and feel deeply comfortable with. For this reason, we will get to know each other well throughout your pregnancy. I am available 24/7 for texts, phone calls, emails…whatever works best for you.
We will also meet a few times during your pregnancy. We will have two prenatal meetings at your home, where we discuss birth options, dig into questions, and lay out a birth plan, among other things. I am available for other meetings as well - this varies from client to client, so I meet you where you’re at with what you’re needing. I have come with clients to their prenatal appointments when they’re having a hard time communicating with their provider, and I have gone to the library with a client and our toddlers.
Additionally, we will schedule one postpartum visit. We will debrief your birth, discuss any resources you may want (lactation support, mental health, etc) and just check-in. If you are interested in further support postpartum, I love supporting my birth families through their postpartum as their postpartum doula.

Finding Kayla was a heaven send. This was my husbands and my first child and we don’t have any family nearby. Her philosophy on pregnancy and the birthing process aligned so well with ours and we worked flawlessly as a team. Throughout my pregnancy I had a very anxious and negative outlook on how my body was changing and lacked confidence in what my body could do. Kayla’s use of meditations and knowledge of laboring techniques eased my fears about labor and delivery and allowed me to take control of my pregnancy. I found the confidence to have the unmedicated natural birth I wanted with Kayla’s help and guidance. She, my husband and my mom were all in the labor and delivery room with me and I couldn’t have selected a greater team around me during that beautiful and spiritual process. Kayla was our guide, our friend and our advocate. We didn’t just end up with a doula when we hired Kayla, we got a team mate. We are forever grateful and beyond words for her support and expertise. She’s the only person we’d trust with our birthing experience again and again!

After babies here, wouldn't it be nice to have someone to help out with all the bottle washing, laundry, meal prepping...not to mention to have some company? Even if your parents or in-laws are the most helpful people you know, it can be nice to have an additional set of hands in those first few weeks.
When you have a postpartum doula, you have someone around who is anticipating your needs. "Mothering the mother". Often this is helping with light housework, but it can also be holding the baby so you can get a solid nap in. Or picking up your Target order on my way over. Or cooking you a nutrient-dense lunch while you snuggle your baby.
